Dogs fitted with cameras to help police catch criminals

UK – Staffordshire Police dogs are the first in the country to be fitted with lightweight digital cameras to their heads in a bid to keep officers safe.

The British-made Fido camera equipment is designed to help officers locate offenders quickly without putting themselves in immediate danger.

Canines wearing the device, which also has an infra-red setting, can be sent into buildings, warehouses and woods while the images are relayed to a screen in an officer’s patrol car.

Sgt Tom Marshall said: “The dogs can locate a human fast because of their fantastic sense of smell.”   Click here to read more Nutty News Stories at Nutty News Today - new stories added all day every day
