Man robs store of $22, gets life in prison

GREENVILLE COUNTY, South Carolina – A repeat offender who committed an armed robbery was sentenced to life in prison under the state’s two strikes law.

A release from 13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins said that James Eddie Bailey, 50, went into the Dollar General on Poinsett Highway on April 14, 2013 and took the manager hostage at knifepoint. While he was demanding money, another employee called 911.

Deputies got to the store as Bailey was coming out, and after a brief chase and struggle, Bailey was taken into custody.

Deputies recovered the knife and $22 taken from the store. More
