VT - A worker at a Chinese restaurant in White River Junction is facing charges for allegedly crashing the restaurant's van into the building, driving completely through the structure and striking and injuring a 7-year-old girl who was in the bathroom at the time. Yu Ni, 36, a native of China legally working in the United States, pleaded innocent Monday in White River Junction District Court to charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and aggravated operation of a motor vehicle without the owner's consent. He was released on conditions. Ni, who does not have a driver's license, told police through an interpreter he was practicing his driving when he "accidentally pinned the accelerator with his foot" and crashed into the building, the police affidavit stated.
