INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Police admitted it's an odd crime to commit, but officers in Independence, Mo. said three suspects started a police chase just so they could videotape it. The suspects told police they wanted to lead the officer on a chase so they could tape it and sell the video to the media. It started when an Independence officer noticed a Mustang with expired tags. The officer said he noticed there were no keys in the ignition, and assumed the car was stolen. When he tried to pull the Mustang over it sped away, beginning the chase. It wasn't long before the officer realized he was being followed. The driver behind him was in a gray car and holding a video camera. When the chase ended in Kansas City, Mo., neighbors said officers used a stun gun on the driver of the Mustang."He surrendered. He surrendered, but the police still Tasered him with that gun," Michelle Sullivan, witness, said. Police arrested the driver of the Mustang for outstanding warrants. As for the gray car with the cameraman, police caught up with him a few blocks away. Investigators took the video as evidence, and found that two people inside the gray car had felony warrants.
