UK - Prison wardens have been urged to show respect to inmates by knocking on cell doors before going in. Wardens have been asked to knock before entering. The advice was included in an inspection report from Anne Owers, the chief inspector of prisons.
Governors at HMP Birmingham, which houses more than a thousand prisoners, are considering the suggestion.
