New York firefighters start fire in plain view of a surveillance camera


New York - Two of New York's Bravest acted more like the dumbest when they allegedly tried to torch a Manhattan firehouse in plain view of a surveillance camera, authorities said. Firefighters Michael Izzo and Richard Capece surrendered to fire marshals Sunday night and were grilled at the 5th Precinct stationhouse in Chinatown. Izzo, 30, of Staten Island, and Capece, 31, of Brooklyn, were caught on camera igniting the garage door of Engine 34/Ladder 21 at 440 W. 38th St. after splashing it with gasoline, officials said.
