STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A white Catholic high school student accused of scrawling racist comments on a black classmate's clothing is telling police he did so on a classroom dare.
The 15-year-old miscreant, whose name is withheld because of his age, said he was goaded into using chalk to write "KKK 4 life" on his classmate's leg, and "KKK" -- the acronym for the Ku Klux Klan -- on his sweater, a police source said. He has been charged as a juvenile with second-degree aggravated harassment as a hate crime, a felony.
