Scotland - The Scottish Government will today receive a request for a licence to bring back beavers to Scotland for the first time in centuries. More than 73 per cent of people were in favour of the trial reintroduction. Beavers have been extinct in Scotland since the 16th century, when they were hunted to extinction.
