VIRGINIA BEACH - A jury recommended a life sentence yesterday for the Caroline County woman convicted a second time of killing her state trooper husband.
Jurors returned the recommendation one day after Donna Blanton, 42, was convicted of first-degree murder in the Oct. 16, 2003, slaying of her husband, 1st Sgt. Taylor V. Blanton, in their Caroline County home. She was also convicted of using a firearm in commission of a felony.
