Man Accused of Targeting Christians in $25M Nationwide Ponzi Scheme


SANTA ANA, California - Federal prosecutors have charged a Mission Viejo man with wire fraud for allegedly running a Ponzi scheme that netted more than $25 million from victims nationwide. Jon G. Ervin, 61, was arrested Friday by FBI agents. Prosecutors say Ervin used a company called Safevest LLC to convince victims to invest in a fake commodity trading program. Investors were told the program would give them returns of up to 1 percent a day, but officials say he never invested any of the money. More...
