Chicago - Beginning next week, Chicago cops will take on a most dangerous undercover role, posing as pedestrians in the city's traffic-choked streets. In an effort to improve safety and promote walking with gas prices surging past $4 a gallon, police officers dressed as civilians will step into crosswalks at two busy Northwest Side intersections as cars approach.
