Police Rule Plane Jumper's Death a Suicide - Jumped out of a skydiving plane without a parachute


DUANESBURG, New York - Investigators have determined that a 29-year-old man who plunged to his death from a skydiving plane Saturday jumped without a parachute because he wanted to take his own life.
Sloan Carafello of Schenectady was an observer on the small plane that had taken off from a small airfield, and witnesses say he leaped out behind three parachuters at 10,000 feet. Police found his body next to a house with a damaged roof in a rural town 15 miles west of Albany. More...
