Rescuers hit by high ammonia levels from cats - High enough to cause brain damage


NEWTON, New Hampshire - Authorities say ammonia levels from 66 cats and other animals in a Newton home were high enough to cause brain damage.
Police and animal cruelty officers discovered the unhealthy conditions while searching Suzanne James' home on Wednesday. Investigator Steve Sprowl says James was selling cats over the Internet.
