ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey - A woman in a motorized wheelchair fell about 30 feet down a casino hotel elevator shaft early Saturday, a city fire official said. It took firefighters about 45 minutes to rescue the woman, who was conscious as she was taken out and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, said Battalion Chief Michael Mooney. She and her motorized wheelchair crashed through the now-closed doors on the second floor. The elevator car was already on its way up and she fell. Her wheelchair fell on top of her. More...
