MILWAUKEE - Police claim to have found a dog fighting operation near 22nd and Hopkins that went by the name "Grim Reaper Kennels." Police found the operation earlier this month when they busted Steve Blackmon for allegedly running a drug house. The 40-year-old repeatedly denied any dog fighting. He claimed the pit bulls were used for pulling contests. Animal control officer Paul Schmidt helped rescue six pit bulls and five puppies from the basement of Blackmon's home. “Some had marks on their front legs and their chest and their head,” Schmidt said.
