A resident of northern Greene County was flown to the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport after he accidentally shot himself in the foot with a shotgun. A report filed by Deputy Sheriff Jeff Caudill at 11:28 a.m. The report said Poore told officers he had been chasing the cat around his house and had the shotgun pointed toward the ground when he accidentally pulled the trigger, causing the firearm to discharge and wound him in the foot.
