A man who thought he was meeting in person a woman he had been corresponding with on the Internet was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night, Savannah-Chatham police said.
The man called metro police at 11:21 p.m. after three men pointed handguns at him and demanded money, a Friday police report stated. Earlier that night, the 57-year-old man was called by a woman he met on the Internet. He told police she asked him to meet her at the corner of New York and Connecticut avenues. While the man was walking to the intersection, the woman called him back and asked him to meet her at Connecticut and Florida avenues, the report stated. More...
