Booze for the rich: Allow alcohol only in stadium suites

Marylane - One of the great parts about America is that, generally speaking, we have the same set of rules for the rich as for the poor. At least that's what I thought was the case, but the University of Maryland just proved me wrong. Maryland has decided to serve beer and wine next season in Byrd Stadium's 64 new suites, but not anywhere else in the stadium. Currently, the university prohibits alcohol consumption in Byrd Stadium, but after the long-awaited $50.8 million expansion, which will add 440 mezzanine seats as well as the 64 suites, the school is willing to make an exception - for a price, of course. E-mail error ends up on road sign

Wales - When officials asked for the Welsh translation of a road sign, they thought the reply was what they needed.
Unfortunately, the e-mail response to Swansea council said in Welsh: "I am not in the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated".
So that was what went up under the English version which barred lorries from a road near a supermarket.
"When they're proofing signs, they should really use someone who speaks Welsh," said journalist Dylan Iorwerth. More... Magazine Lane - Discount Cigarettes & Tobacco - Nutty News Marketplace - Identity Direct

Muslim wedding of a seven-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl

Payback Time: Journalists From Three Newspapers Booted From Obama's Plane

Journalists from three major newspapers that endorsed John McCain have reportedly been booted from Barack Obama's campaign plane for the final leg of the presidential race.
The Washington Times reported Friday that it was notified of the Obama campaign's decision Thursday evening -- even though the paper has covered Obama from the start. Executive Editor John Solomon told FOXNews.com that the Obama campaign said it didn't have enough seats on the plane, but "I don't think the explanation makes sense to us." "We've been traveling since 2007 with him. ... We're a relevant newspaper -- every day we break news," Solomon said. "And to suddenly be kicked off the plane for people who haven't covered it as aggressively or thoroughly as we are ... it sort of feels unfair." More... More... How many zeros in a billion?

The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money. A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
-A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

-A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

-A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

-A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth.

- A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.
-While this thought is still fresh in our brain...let's take a look at New Orleans ... It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division. Louisiana Senator,Mary Landrieu (D) is presently asking Congress for 250 BILLION DOLLARSto rebuild New Orleans. Interesting number...what does it mean?

-Well... if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, and child) you each get $516,528.

-Or... if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

-Or... if you are a family of four...your family gets $2,066,012.

Obama Accepting Untraceable Donations - Basic credit card security measures disabled

Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed. Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. The problem with such cards, campaign finance lawyers said, is that they make it impossible to tell whether foreign nationals, donors who have exceeded the limits, government contractors or others who are barred from giving to a federal campaign are making contributions.
