Rescuers save man who was floating in Cumberland River


Man was just swimming but they saved him:

Metro emergency crews have rescued a man who was seen floating in the Cumberland River this morning around 7:30 a.m. near downtown, Metro officials said.
The man was rescued in an area just off Davidson Drive, behind the U.S. Government Naval Reserve Center in east Nashville near Shelby Park, Metro officials said.The man told rescuers he entered the water on his own and he wasn't thrown into the water, officials said.Additional details are not immediately available about how the man got into the water. Early reports said the man's boat was seen nearby, and he was wearing an orange life jacket.
