Fake cops say poker machines illegal and took them

DALLAS TX - Dallas police say two men disguised as officers have taken gaming machines from at least eight convenience stores in the northern part of Texas. Dallas police have arrested one man in connection with the crimes, but his name was not released due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, the Dallas Morning News reported Thursday. John LeBlanc, a clerk at a Mobil gas station in Dallas, said the two men entered the store July 22 and told him that the shop's video poker machines were illegal because they paid out real money. He said the men claimed to be police officers and one wore a police logo t-shirt, carried handcuffs and a radio of some kind. LeBlanc said he grew suspicious of the men and phoned the real police, but the thieves were gone before officers arrived. Dallas police said the same men are thought to have hit seven other stores in Dallas, Lewisville, Arlington and Crandall. "Probably a whole lot more," said police Detective Craig Johnson.
