NORTHVALE — A robber who stole $38 at knifepoint from a local delicatessen locked his keys in the getaway car, giving police enough time to catch him, authorities said today.
Brian Robinson, 47, of Pearl River, N.Y., entered Petrillo’s Deli on Livingston Street around 6:30 a.m. and waved a butcher knife to intimidate employees and customers before fleeing with cash from the register, said Capt. Vincent St. Angelo.
But after locking his keys in his car, he had to break a window to get in.
