Nutty Defense: Suspected killer was suffering psychological problems caused by a rattle snake bite


RIVERHEAD, NY - The family of a man charged in the deaths of six people in Texas and Pennsylvania said Monday that at the time of the cross country killing spree, the suspect was suffering psychological problems caused by a rattle snake bite he had received days before.
A Suffolk County Court judge in Riverhead, N.Y. approved the extradition to Texas of Paul Devoe III, who is wanted in Austin for the the Aug. 26 killings of an ex-girlfriend, 46-year-old Paula Griffith; her 15-year-old daughter, the daughter's 17-year-old friend, and Griffith's boyfriend, 48-year-old Jay Feltner.
