College freshman at 81 - Proves you're never too old to learn


Florida - A high school senior in 1943, Betty Reilly's hopes of going to college were dashed by World War II. Her father did well as a baker in Long Island. But money was tight, and like many young women her age then, bringing home an extra paycheck took priority over finishing high school. Then came marriage, five kids, a near lifetime of playing housewife, mom and grandma. Her husband died in the late 1980s.
