Clinic Mixes Up Newborns, Gives Babies to Wrong Parents


BERLIN, Germany — A clinic in southwestern Germany acknowledged Friday that it had mixed up two newborn girls and given them to the wrong parents, saying it was trying to rectify the mistake, a newspaper reported.
The clinic in Saarlouis mixed the babies up this summer, the top-selling Bild newspaper said. The mistake came to light when one of the fathers took a paternity test, which led to him finding out that he was not the natural father of the baby — and that his wife was also not the mother.
