Happy Easter: Health officials warn parents to think before purchasing fuzzy pets

Colorado - Larimer County Health officials warn parents of the dangers of touching small chicks and ducks as Easter approaches.
Chicks and ducks both pose a risk of salmonella poisoning, an intestinal illness that can range from mild to serious in condition.
Parents should make sure their children wash their after touching the animals and keep them away from their mouths and faces, as the bacteria can be in their feathers. The department doesn't recommend the fuzzy pets for children five years and younger.
