Teacher fired for putting student in storage room - Did the same thing in 2006 and was suspended


In 2006, teacher Rutha G. Scott was suspended for 71 days without pay for placing a misbehaving student in a storage room at Olympic Heights High west of Boca Raton. On Wednesday, Scott lost her job because of similar alleged misconduct this year at Palm Beach Central High in Wellington. The Palm Beach County School Board on Wednesday voted unanimously to fire the business teacher because a school district investigation concluded that she placed a student in a dark storage room for five to 15 minutes on Feb. 1.
