8,000 pound microscope falls on man - At The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health


Mt. Lookout - Emergency crews rushed a 25-year-old man to University Hospital Monday morning after an 8,000 pound microscope fell on his chest in Mt. Lookout. The accident happened at the shipping and loading dock at NIOSH, The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, at 1090 Tusculum. Workers with Gano were removing an electron microscope that weighs around 8,000 pounds from the loading dock onto a trailer when it became unstable and fell on the employee, according to Chief Boeing.
