Brothers pay prank on cousin - Burn down house & kill father

Fremont - The grandparents of two Fremont brothers accused of deliberately burning down their home Saturday morning, killing their father in the process, claim the two men were playing a prank on their cousin that got out of control. "They was drunk and probably couldn't think of anything else to do," said Virginia Balderama, 69, step-grandmother of the two brothers. Ian Balderama, 24, of 1215 Carbon St., was charged Saturday with aggravated arson, and his brother, Matthew Balderama, 22, of the same address, was charged with complicity to aggravated arson after the fire they're accused of setting killed their father, George Balderama, 50, who also lived at the Carbon Street address with his stepmother Virginia, father, Eugene, 73, and nephew Brian McCoy, according to Mrs. Balderama and Fremont police.
