‘Pothead Princess’ sentenced to 24 years for fatal crash

Florida’s “Pothead Princess” was sentenced to 24 years in prison for the drunken crash that abruptly sent two young women to an early death.

Kayla Mendoza, who tweeted “2 Drunk 2 Care” shortly before the fatal crash, begged for forgiveness on Monday during a tearful plea to her victims’ families.

“No matter how much time passes they will never leave my heart,” Mendoza, 22, said, according to NBC Miami. “I think about them every day, and I regret my choices every day.”

Mendoza downed a pair of jumbo margaritas in November 2013 before she climbed in her boyfriend’s car and sped off, cruising the wrong way down a Broward County expressway. More
