Retired N.J. police chief sexted officer’s wife, begged for sex as his own wife underwent chemo

A former New Jersey police chief begged a fellow officer's wife to have sex with him in a series of graphic text messages while his own wife underwent chemo, a lawsuit claims.

Kenneth Hartman, who's accused of sending the raunchy messages last August, retired from the Far Hills Police Department just as a complaint was being filed against him in May, My Central Jersey reported, citing a copy of the suit.

In it, Hartman is accused of sending 22 sexually explicit text messages to Jason Shanaphy's wife within 45 minutes on the night of Aug. 20, 2014. It also accuses him of inappropriately befriending Shanaphy's first wife shortly after their 2008 divorce.

"Please do not tell. Have wanted to text you because I want to have sex with you," one message reads.  More
