An adult female and her 15-year-old daughter, who were home at the time, asked the intruder what he thought he was doing.
"Waiting for a friend," he replied.
The suspect fled, however, after the females told him they were calling police.
Other neighbors spotted the man running throughout the neighborhood, and he was eventually found hiding behind a shed off Military Road, Nemecek explained.
Police had the man in custody about 20 minutes after the chase began.
Nemecek said state policeare seeking charges against the man for second-degree home invasion and unlawful entry of a residence.
