OLDSMAR FL - One man's search for love has put him in the poor house and landed his wife behind bars. He's on the verge of bankruptcy and she's charged with bigamy and scheming to defraud her husband.
Kim Norris, 37, is accused of illegally marrying John Meister, a restaurant manager.
Meister says he married Norris in Dunedin last year, after a whirlwind romance where she said she was divorced.
"I thought that had gone through," he said. "We got married then I found out she wasn't divorced."
Meister gave Norris a car, an SUV, a motorcycle, and, according to investigators, even paid for breast augmentation surgery. Investigators say he spent $160,000 on her.
