Nurse rapist sentenced to 210 years


INVERNESS - A former Citrus County hospital nurse convicted 14 years ago of raping sedated patients has been sentenced to 210 years in prison.
A circuit judge on Wednesday gave 60-year-old Bruce Alan Young seven consecutive 30-year prison terms, because he violated his probation when he escaped from a mental facility last year.

Phoenix, Arizona - A pair of 16-year-old girls face child prostitution charges for their roles in what police described Monday as a sex operation where the girls recruited and managed other teen girls as young as 14.
Phoenix police vice detectives investigated the girls for nearly five months before making separate arrests earlier this month. The case was investigated separately from the weekend prostitution sweeps led by the FBI, in which Phoenix police made more than 50 arrests. More... State hopes to thwart crocodiles' homing instinct - Tape magnets to their heads


Florida - Magnets taped to the heads of captured crocodiles could keep them from returning to South Florida neighborhoods where they're not wanted, state wildlife officials said Monday.
State biologists are studying the temporary use of magnets to disrupt the internal navigation of federally and state-protected American crocodiles, which have been spotted most often in neighborhoods of Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. Woman fell to her death while chasing a feather


UK - The walker, who was in her 40s, had been following a coastal footpath when she spotted the bird feather and went to pick it up.
As the wind caught it and blew it close to the edge, she ignored safety warnings and climbed over metal railings lining the cliff top.

Starbucks sues to shutter Starcups café


Sweden - A Gothenburg-area café owner is confident he will prevail in a naming dispute with US coffee shop giant Starbucks. Arman Najafpour runs the Starcups café in Gothenburg’s Linnéstaden neighbourhood and can’t understand why the American coffee shop chain might have a problem with his café. “Starcups is a totally different thing,” he told the Göteborgs-Posten (GP) newspaper. “I’ve had the name registered here in Sweden and there are certain rules that apply.
