More People Leaving Money to Their Pets

NEW YORK - Leona Helmsley's decision to leave $12 million to her dog so it could live out its life in luxury proved once and for all that she was not one of the little people.
But legal experts say that, size aside, Helmsley's gift to her beloved pet - a Maltese named Trouble - wasn't unique.
A growing number of people, not all wealthy, have been setting up trust funds or adjusting their wills to ensure that their pets are well cared for if they die, according to attorneys and animal welfare groups.
States have rushed to make such gifts easier. At the close of the 1990s, only a handful recognized so-called "pet trusts." Now, 39 states plus Washington, D.C., have enacted laws dealing with such gifts. Full Story - Dog & Kennel Magazine - Jade Cigarettes - PetCareRx

Couple Conceives Two Sets of Triplets Naturally - Odds are astronomical

CINCINNATI — Victoria Lasita and her husband Tim had decided not to stop at three children.
But they weren't thinking about a second set of triplets when they said they wanted to have "one more."
"I guess we should have been more specific and said one more child, not one more set," said Victoria, 39, who delivered the couple's second set of triplets Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital.
The Lasitas conceived both sets of triplets naturally, without fertility treatments.
"Holy smokes. Do you know what the odds of that are?" said Dr. Glen E. Hofmann, medical director of the

Titanic key up for auction - Could have saved the ship

The key wasn't on the ship during its fateful 1912 maiden voyage because second officer David Blair was taken off at the last minute and he forgot to turn it over to his replacement. Beethoven's Doctor Accidentally Poisoned Him

VIENNA, Austria — Did someone kill Beethoven? A Viennese pathologist claims the composer's physician did — inadvertently overdosing him with lead in a case of a cure that went wrong.
Other researchers are not convinced, but there is no controversy about one fact: The master had been a very sick man years before his death in 1827.
Previous research determined that Beethoven had suffered from
lead poisoning, first detecting toxic levels of the metal in his hair and then, two years ago, in bone fragments. Those findings strengthened the belief that lead poisoning may have contributed — and ultimately led — to his death at age 57. Full Story - Hit Parader Magazine - Roger Cigarettes - Cheap Pet Store
